Who is Rhythm Locura? |
|
Rhythm Locura is an LGBT Latin dance performance group, formed in September, 2005 at Stepping Out Studios by Simone Assboeck. Its dancers are of a wide range of age, and come from diverse social, professional and ethnic backgrounds and differing backgrounds in dance.
Rhythm Locura’s diversity and unique dance style quickly attracted the attention of many event and venue organizers, resulting in invitations to perform at the legendary SOB’s, China Club, LGBT Pride events in all the boroughs in NYC and in Jersey City, NJ. It has even enjoyed “dancing in the streets” at New York’s festive and inclusive Dance Parade. Rhythm Locura competed in the 2007 5 Boro Dance Challenge and took away first prize in the performance group category.
Even with its diversity, Rhythm Locura has a common denominator: its love of Latin dance and its desire to share it with you! |
