Our Dancers |
Rhythm Locura dancers are made up of LGBT people of all ages, races and professional backgrounds. Below are pictures and bios of some of our dancers: |
Ken Bing |
Kenneth Bing is a founding member of Rhythm Locura, and has been enjoying every minute of it since!. As a physical therapist (during the day), he realizes that physical activities keep you young and vital, and when it's enjoyable, so much the better!. He considers the members of Rhythm Locura his second family- with all that implies- and hopes our joy of dance comes through our performances. He lives with his partner in Queens, NY. |

Karen Kirschner |
Karen is a founding member of Rhythm Locura and is a life long social dancer. She became more involved with the art of dance in 2002 to help her recover from a major life loss. Doing “something different” has become a regular part of her existence and she cannot imagine her life without Latin dance! She has an advanced degree in Nursing and is credentialed in healthcare risk management. |

Melinda Kay |
Melinda Kay has been a martial arts practitioner for 15 years and a physical education teacher for 21 years. She has discovered her true calling in ballroom dance performance. Melinda loves having the choice to both lead and follow in Rhythm Locura. She enjoys working on solo dances as well as strengthening her partner dance skills. "The very fact that kids in elementary, middle and high schools still use the word 'gay' as an insult shows that we in Rhythm Locura have a great mission as role models and champions of human freedom. Come join us!" |
